Religion is....

...the vision of something which stands beyond, behind and within the passing flux of immediate things; something which is real, and yet waiting to be realised; something which is a remote possibility and yet the greatest of present facts; something that gives meaning to all that passes and yet eludes apprehension; something whose possession is the final good and yet is beyond all reach; something which is the ultimate ideal, and the hopeless quest.

A N Whitehead, quoted by James le Fanu

Hi, is this "jeepers" of philosophy forum?

Just took a look in thatforum again after a number of years, and see you are having some problems with the DeathMonkeys. I haven't read much tjere yet, and I know I don't agree totally with you (in fact, probably closer to DeathMonkey) but I would just like to say that I think DeathMonkey is not fair minded, and he really is too big for his britches. Don't know if I want to get involved with all this again, but it is very tempting.

Yeah, that's me. I finally bailed on the Philosophy Forum. I have tried posting on a few others, as it is a subject that I like to debate, but mine is very much a minority viewpoint in today's world, something I just have to get used to.

As for Death Monkey, he is really just a Daniel Dennett materialist.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
